I have yet to pull my Travel Trailer with our new to us dually.
We bought a dually because we intended to upgrade to a larger TT with a slide in the future and we wanted to carry a golf cart in the bed (eventually).
Do any of you tow a travel trailer with a Dually? Did it make a big difference? We are coming from a 97 F-150 so I expect it to be a little better  .
Anybody haul a golf cart in the bed while towing?

I went from a 3/4 ton single to a 1ton dually and would never go back. More power from the diesel engine and so much more stabile on the road. Wish I had gone with the bigger truck first. Would have saved money.

I went dually from 3/4 ton in 2002.
As said, world of difference. I love towing my TT with my dually.
The stability, the sure-footedness on the road is really a noticeable difference. I feel very confident in all driving conditions, including off road, dragging my TT up into a mountain lake over very rough terrain.
I'll never go back to a single.
Yeah I still hop a curb once in a while but.....
Just watch the "hips" until you get used to them!

What equalizer bar's? We don't need no stinkin' equalizer bar's! Hook up, set the cruise on 75 and let'r roll. Life is really good with a dually!

Towing with a dually gives good side to side stability. Having towed with Suburbans and pickups, getting a dually diesel/Allison has been a major improvement. I tow up to 65 mph without feeling the constant tug of the TT. The tow/haul mode of the Allison allows easier braking and greater control of shifting when bogged down by slow traffic off the interstates.

In late 2009 we upgraded from a 1999 F150 (4.6L) to our current 2006 Dodge dually tow vehicle. As others state, it is a different world with the dually.
A learning experience... when we purchased our dually it came with highway tires. Last summer they were replaced at WalMart with more agressive tread, load range E tires. While the tires look great and have better traction on wet or loose surfaces, they do not tow very well. They don't feel as firm and flex more than the original tires. We're still using them, but will look for something else next time.

My friend Harold bought a Dodge dually about 5 years ago after having GM HD pickups.
He had a trailer but wanted to add a Lance Camper to his toy arsenal because he is a hunter. So he has a camper and a trailer now.
He picked up the new Dodge for 5 grand less than the diesel GMC.
He was very surprised how much difference it made when he went to tow his trailer.
However, in the end he later also bought an inexpensive mid-size pickup as his " runaround" truck.
However, he has lots of outdoor toys so it may have happened anyway.
