Site sometimes has issues.
I just had a problem posting a response to another thread.
Try going to http://forums.woodalls.com/ log in with same credentials and try posting from there.
I just did and it works. Sometimes the site can be a bit quirky for some reason. I could post a response in one thread but not another.

I am trying to post a thread about buying a crank operated machine that uses crushed ice and you use salt to make the ice colder

OK just kidding, For the past few years I have been using a Kitchen Aid ice cream maker and was not 100% happy with it. It took up a lot of freezer space and if you stored it outside the freezer you had to put in it the freezer a least a day and a half ahead of time. Also I noticed that when I visited friends their freezers did not get the container cold enough. I keep my freezer set to max cold and I consider the results to be adequate.
I have seen a few hand crank models for ale but the cheapest hand crank non electric was more than I wanted to spend.
So the other day when I was in Sam's club I saw one selling for $55 I grabbed it up, the ON LINE PRICE IS $77 plus shipping. There were a few reviews with complaints about the motor but Sam's has always been good with returns and I paid an extra $7 for a one year replacement warrantee so I am not worried..
And the thing I like about this machine is that it has both an electric motor and hand crank which will eliminate the need for electricity while camping. All you need to do is bring some ice or buy a bag (yes I do know you put the salt in the ice to make it colder)
My two favorite flavors are chocolate and strawberry, I am going to mix up my first batch of strawberry ice cream tomorrow and load it up with a lot of strawberries. When I don't make my own I usually buy the expensive stuff in the store but none of the most expensive store bought stuff compares to home made. If you don't own an ice cream maker and are a Sam's member I suggest you try one out I have never seen one this cheap. Only time will tell how well the motor holds up but you have the hand crank as a back up and for 7 buck extra you have a one year return replacement.

Good, I learned a long time ago that occasionally the site has issues and when it does, I temporarily go to another portal and post from there.
Works almost every time. I find that when RV.Net burps, Woodalls usually works.

By the way I bought salt to use in the machine and this is exactly what was written on the box
"ICE CREAM SALT" I thought the wording was odd.

I am a poor typist and type slowly, so on a long post I make it a habit to copy and paste to a word doc so if it messes up I can just copy , paste and repost, I made countless attempts even breaking it down to smaller parts and my attempts also included re-booting and I would still be messed up if it wasn't for your suggestion.
I'll keep that in mind for future refference
