Recently purchased a small travel trailer fully loaded weight is 3200 pounds. The friction sway control was installed at the dealership. The bracket that connects the the travel trailer frame is coming loose. The self taping screws have stripped out. From all the pictures I have seen on the internet this doesnt seem to be the correct instalation. What I would like to do is turn this plate so I can put four bolts all the way through the frame. Im not sure if this would effect the frame or safety. Any advice?

I would not have left the dealership with that setup.Perhaps the reason the 2 stripped out is the fact that it's supposed to be held on by 4,not 2.
As far as through bolting-my concern would be squeezing the frame and possibly weakening it at that point.

It doesn't look like you have enough room to turn the bracket- the bolt holes would be through the top and bottom of the frame. You could use a piece of bar stock and a couple of bolts to clamp the frame using the other 2 holes...

Turn the bracket square to the frame
Clamp the brack to the frame and drill new holes through the bracket and frame with correct size bit for the bolts
Unclamp the bracket and red rill the bracket holes with the next bit size up...or ream them or use the same bit as the first and just riock the dril a bit to enlarge the holes a little

I'd say that was about all they COULD do because your trailers frame is so small the bracket will not fit without drilling at LEAVE very close to the edges which would be a REALLY bad idea. If the self tapping screws are coming loose then remove them and replace them with bolts with lock washers (provided you can get to the back side. If the frame is boxed (as I HOPE it is) then some glue of some sort may help hold them.

I second this recommendation. In fact, I think I would drill through the other side of the frame in the existing holes, put two bolts through them with large washers on the other side, and also use a piece of bar stock and two bolts on the top and bottom holes as Chris Bryant suggested.

Why don't you just go to a welder (friend?) and have the plate welded to the frame? Problem solved.
