According to the GMC website your max payload is 2545 lbs in a single rear wheel, 4wd Denali 2500HD. Fill your tank and weigh it with you in it then add the weight of the hitch, your spouse, dogs, tool box with tools or whatever you will travel with and see what is left. You might be surprised how quickly you lose your payload capacity before you even hook up to a fifth wheel.
I just got my new 3500 Denali last month. I weighed it last week with the things I have added since I bought it: new B&W Comapanion hitch, spray bed liner, running boards, and full liner floor mats. I also filled the tank and sat in it while it was weighed. I lost 585 lbs off my stated capacity. By the way, you have a 6200 lb rear gross axle weight rating.

Smurf this just shows, most can't drive. They jump into a pickup and camper. They have never driven anything bigger then there personal auto. I see it on here all the time. Man that drive is killer Or what they love to call (WHITE KNUCKLE DRIVE)Now if they had ever had the pleasure of driving a big truck loaded to the max or more. They then would see, every size and shape of rolling hauling towing truck does not drive the same as there Town Car does. Its a truck its going to make you drive not kick back and relax and take your eyes and mind off what your doing..
Still think fed's needs to set up a test for all campers. I had to show I could handle 80,000 lbs or more. But a person can jump into the same size truck/camper and then take off.
Days of a Tri-Axle dump truck 74,000 lbs sitting on the back just like our pickup's. You don't drive it, you keep it between the lines. Its not a relaxed drive.. 80,000 lbs or more on a tractor and Trailer is not kicked back and relax. But not bad to anyone that does it. But we load a pickup down to its max load limits and were death on the roads waiting to kill the world.
Thanks Smurf for being one that knows there truck can handle it. Plus know how to drive it.

Just move over guys or park it.
I have got to jump on this bandwagon! I agree! I am at 36ft, four slides 13K camp ready and a hitch wt of around 2500lbs. I would easily go 3-400 more in pin wt and not blink an eye......
Oh, yea.....I can only go one direction without hitting an 8% grade, and that's east. I agree with the smurf......if you see me coming up behind you, kindly move aside and I will smile and wave nicely as I go by.
Unless you want a dually, keep the Denali 2500 and put some bags on the back, shocks or a helper springs. No worries.

Pretty simple you first decide which rating you want to follow. A: The manufactures suggestion payload (2500 lbs in your case), B: the RAWR (6200 lbs in your case) or C: someone typing on the Internet.
Example A doesn't need explaining.
Example B you'll need to scale your truck loaded ready to hitch up. Subtract your scaled drive axle weight from your 6200 lb RAWR (most likely your tire rating also). That number is your max LEGAL weight in many states.
Example C forget all rating just hook up and go (which is legal in some states).
Remember nobody tows dry weight. IMO your pin will be well north of 3k.
Your DMAX will have no problems towing that weight.
Good Luck
