Hello, I have a 2012 GMC Denali 2500HD Crew Cab 6.5 bed 6.6 Duramax my manual says it has a 14,700 fifth wheel towing limit with a 2500lb. pin weight. I have to questions i'm looking at a 37ft Jayco with a 12,385 Dry weight and a 2800lb. pin weight do you think it will tow ok? Second question do'es anyone no why the same exact truck in a Chevy Silverado has 15,800 fiith wheel towing limit?
Thanks
Bob

If its a 2500hd it's too much trailer if a 3500srw then you're good to go.

I believe that will be pushing it with the Denali. The reason why the Silverado has a higher tow rating is because it has slightly stiffer springs because the Denali rides a little softer. I Also suspect the Silverado has less creature comforts then the Denali has and therefore weighs a little less.

You may want to ask the local GMC dealer why it has a lower limit. Either truck though I think you would be at your max or slightly over. Just my opinion.

Did you not answer your own question.

towing limit with a 2500lb. pin weight -

12,385 Dry weight and a 2800lb. pin weight

And that pin weight will go higher as you load the trailer.

What does the rear axle of your truck weight with the hitch installed?

What is the Rear GAWR?

You can tow it, but you'll be overweight and are not going to like it.
I bought an 08 Jayco Designer and had a 2005 Chevy Duramax 2500 crew cab short bed and found out quickly that that big of a trailer with a 3/4 ton short bed truck is not a good combination.
The Designer will push you all over the road and you will be on the edge of your seat the whole time you're towing.
Didn't take me long to upgrade to a 3500 dually and it turned white knuckle driving to a relaxed comfortable ride.
Don't know about your weight comparison with the Chevy, but maybe it's 2wd and you're 4wd?
I really love my Jayco Designer, but speaking from experience, I wouldn't recommend towing one with a 2500. Too much pin weight.
