One of my brake lights works but is dim. Anyone have ideas on what the problem could be? 04 Monaco Monarch

Try your turn signals and see which one is dim? If it's easy to take the covers off the bulbs and look at the filaments as they work you will find the problem easier. The dim bulb is actually using the run light filament.

Check your ground wires on that side for corrosion. You can run a jumper wire from a good ground on the coach and touch it to the side of the brake light socket. If the bulb brightens, you then have to trace where the original ground has deteriorated.

yup but i'd do that in reverse order. checking the ground is free and i'm che...er...thrifty.

If access is easy, just try swapping the brake bulbs from side to side, if the problem changes sides, it is the bulb, if it stays on the same side, it would be the socket.

In my books changing the bulb is easier than tracing a bad ground.

Yes, these guys & gals are very helpful here. What did it turn out to be?
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.
