We currently have a 28 1/2 ft Jayco with slide. My question is would a Chevy 2500 Silverado with a 6.0 gasser comfortably do the job? Thanks in advance.
If you do not want to change to a 6 speed 6.2 V8 version than it is more of a case of it will have to do....like my version.
The only other choice is to go to a diesel....I would not go there myself! LOL.

I had 2006 Chev 2500 6.0L. w/3.73 rear end.
It didn't get the job done. A 4.10 rear end might.
But as you asked "comfortably". That answer is a comfortable "NO!"

I have a 2004 crew cab 6.0 4x4 I pull a 2009 jayco 314 BHS ,7500 lbs reay to camp truk pulls the camper very well. I also have a 2005 Jayco 325 BHS 5th wheel camper weighs 10400 ready to camp, truck handles the pin weight well , my speed drops about 10 MPH on long steep grades compared to he travell trailer. MPG suffers as well. Over all I am pleased how the truck handles both campers.

I have been pulling equipment trailers with my 2012 6.0. So far up to 14K up steep grades. It pulls well, maybe due to the 6 speed but it pulls well. It screams but it will pull a load. Pretty impressively for a gas motor in my opinion and I have 3.73's.

I find nothing un-comfortable with 4800 RPM in first gear all the way up whatever paved mountain might be between my 14k# load and my destination. I don't need the 6-speed, I have more HP than any stock 6.2 or any stock turbodiesel, and I can still afford fuel.

Need more information, like how much does that RV weigh? 28' RV can weigh 5000 pounds up to 12k pounds loaded. What year 6.0L are you looking at, new 2012, used 2001? I will generally say 2007.5+ mated to the 6-spd will comfortably tow 12k pounds loaded. But each person's comfort level is different. Some people do not like 4000rpm, others are okay with it. What truck do you have now?

I have the 6.0 and 4 speed with 3.73 rear which towes my current FW like a dream. However I am going to a Durango 296BH within the week so with the extra wieght, most likely I will be doing a gear swap to 4.10. I am going to see how the 3.73 tows first... Anyhow dont see a problem with your 6.0 pulling the load.
