Yes unless you've got really strong lungs to blow into the Schrader valve!
I just asumed that they worked the same as the pressure tank on my well at home. I guess this is one mod I'll pass on. I do mostly CG style camping so unless I start doing a good bit of dry camping I don't need it.
You only set the pressure once. Mine has been in use for around six years without even checking the pressure. Once set you don't need to mess with it unless something changes.

If you installed a Shurflo Extreme Smart Sensor 5.7 GPM pump, then I wouldn't suggest removing the accumulator tank. Adding a valve to temporarily disable it will allow you to use it again in the future. The Extreme pumps have been arguably one of the highest failure rate pumps Shurflo has ever produced.
