We love our 2003 Jayco class C but are considering a move to Thor's Palazzo. Was just wondering if anyone has one and your impression's pro and con. Thanks

I'll give some cons (there are some pros though):

1) Usually when you switch, there is a financial loss of some kind
2) You will lose the overhead bunk
3) Class C has the "lower feel while driving"

What will stay the same
1) You will still have a large RV which is hard to drive around in and may need a toad.
2) You will still have a generator, shower, A/C, bedding, and most functions of the Class A

Pros:
1) Class A is usually bigger and has more room both inside and out, which many people think is very important.
2) Some people like the higher feel, with WIDE open views of the road.

4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

I'm pretty sure the Palazzo is a 2013 model, so you're not going to find out much from other users... yet. Personally I try to avoid the first model year of anything, let the bugs get worked out by somebody else.

I camp with 2 other families, one with a Class C and one that changed from a C to an A. The difference in space is a real big deal, as I'm sure you've noticed. Since the unit you are looking at is a DP you'll notice a huge difference in the power you'll have too. Of course you'll need to be a bit more aware of your height too. I'd say one of the biggest things I've heard from those that converted are the mirrors, backing and overall visibility with their Class A rigs. But whatever you do, take it out for a test drive and make sure that you like how it handles.

Class A Pros: Pull into site, Auto level, extend slideouts, u are set. No manual leveling, more room, more time to sip that 1st beverage.

I have the Winnebago 34Y which has close to the same chassis/engine/transmission as the coach your are considering. It is a great setup for a coach of this sizes except for the overhang in the rear of the coach. The transmission/engine combination requires a certain amount of space. It is the same for a 34' coach as a 45' coach so the shorter wheelbase on the smaller coaches can cause some issues in crosswinds.

I moved from a Super C to this Class A. Wife and I love all the amenities but I really liked the drive of the Class C on a class 6 truck chassis better than the Freightliner bus chassis. Also, we actually lost sleeping positions going to the A Class due to the loss of the overhead bunk.

My dream coach would be a truck conversion. We will most likely keep this coach for the remainder of our traveling days. Like I said, it is a great size and chocked full of amenities. I just have a little issue with how it drives on a very windy day.

Good luck with your decision.

Not sure about that model, but as a Thor coach owner I am VERY pleased with Thor as a manufacturer. Even in my lower end ACE they treated me like I just spent a million bucks. Personal concierge, any questions or issues addressed quickly and in good spirit. I would buy another Thor simply for how they stand behind their product and the way they treat their customers.

I got a Class A... Ithink now that I would have been happier with a "C" Now that my kids are 18 and 22 and don't come with us any more. I'd prefer some thing smaller

last year we moved from a Jayco class C to a 2011 Thor Hurricane. The model you are looking at is higher priced model than we have but I agree with the other writter - Thor customer service is outstanding. We made the move to the A to gain bunk beds so we could take our little grand daughter with us. The C was a little quieter to drive (less wind noise), but in all other aspects we like the A more. Good luck with your decision.
