I have a 2008 Winnebago Sightseer 29R. I can hear the solenoid click when depressing the battery boost switch with either the ignition on or the aux battery switch on or both on. The problem is with a dead chassis battery and fully charged house batteries I cannot start the engine with the boost switch. Likewise if the house batteries are dead and a good chassis battery I cannot start the generator using the battery boost switch. In both cases the aux switch in on.
Do I have a bad solenoid, a bad relay or something else? Any ideas??

12 volt test light.
Have friend, etc. hold switch
Make sure wire ground clip on test light is well grounded.
Touch big terminals one on each side of the solenoid.
both sides (both wires) must be brightly light the test light.
Go test, come back and post your report of test :-)

What make and model RV do you have. This will make a difference in how you gain access to the failing solenoid.
It does sound like you have a defective solenoid. It is not making internal contact to connect the two batteries. The clicking says the activation circuitry is okay. Replacing the solenoid is a simple task.

This is how the solenoids fail. The bar in the solenoid does not make good contact to the two contact points.
The boost solenoid is not a substitute for maintaining and keeping the batteries charged.
Yes, you have a bad solenoid.
Put your batteries on a charger and the solenoid will last a lot longer.

Rather embarrassing to spend 25 dollars on a replacement solenoid only to have the problem lie in a battery connection at one of the two possible ends*. Like finding a lost cellular phone and having someone keep ringing until you dig it out of the sofa, a friend can" keep clicking the switch while the owner keeps "audio sonar locating" it.
*Oh it was you're solenoid" is a favorite RV repair shop shall we say "excuse" when the problem was a dirty or loose connection "And oh, by the way, we are simply the greatest; we also shined up and tightened all the connections".

OK, so I will check conections and measure the voltage on both sides of the solenoid once I get access to it. Another question I have is where does the activation voltage come from, the chassis or the house battery. With the ignition off and the aux battery switch off I do not here the solenoid click when depressing the boost switch. The solenoid clicks when either one is turned on and the boost switch depressed. It's like both sets of batteries provide the solenoid activation voltage.

If you would just answer the question about what RV you have, someone MAY be able to answer that question.
