Fuel shut off and a gas gauge is the reason I like the Yamaha too. I should also ask if it will run the microwave? With the A/C off of course.

I asked a similar question several months ago. I had a Yamaha 2400 that I liked, but it didn't fit in my compartment, so I sold it. Ended up with the Honda 2000. Reason? - The Honda has an engine that is 20cc bigger than the Yamaha 2000 and the Honda has a 30 minute rating at 2000 watts. The Yamaha doesn't. I figured that the Honda had more surge capacity. I am glad to see that the Yamaha will run the Polar Cub, but I didn't want to push it.

Even though you can't "run" the gas out of a Honda's carburetor, it does drain/evaporate over the course of about a week.

I can tell because mine will start first pull every time as long as it's been less than about a week. After a week or so, it takes about 12 pulls to re-fill the carburetor with gas.
