Put all are pictures from are computer on disks to free up space on the computer. Now when I try to look at the pictures its like they are not there. On the bottom on the screen is a bar that shows the disk space remaining and it shows it is almost full but I cant open it. I bought a external drive from best buy that reads all kinds of disks but this didnt work. Any help would be appriciated. Please keep it simple in your responces. I know about enough to get me in this trouble. Thanks

Is this the first time you tried to look at them?
How long has it been since you put the pictures on the disk?
What program did you use to make them?
Have you already deleted the pictures off your computer,

The key is What program did you use to put the pictures on the disk?
For everyone else looking here, this is why you need to look at the backup before you delete anything that is important. For instance I don't delete the pictures on the camera until I am sure I can view them on the computer.

If you used a backup program, they are probably compressed and not JPEGS, you should put them on a CD via EXPLORER with a simple COPY. Same question as aboves, how did you put them on?

If you copy the pictures to your camera to your computer then delete them off your camera, that is not a backup.

A backup is having 2 or more copies. Preferably a copy offsite in case of fire, etc.

Can you open the directory of the disc in Explorer? If so, what file extention did you use to save them in? Knowing that will help us help you.
If the directory doesn't show any files or files with extensions you may have not actually saved them at all.
Hope you haven't deleted the files from your harddrive yet. If you have, there are programs that will let you recover them if....IF you haven't saved any other files to the computer yet. Google free file recover programs.

What kind of disk did you burn. Did the session get 'finalized' on completion. It could still be open for additional files. Check it with the program you used to do the copying.

Rexabbot: Please reread my post. The words 'for instance' precede my comment about the camera and the computer. There are no words about that being a back up.
