Just a reminder to check tire pressure before every trip.
Friday morning I checked my pressure and the right inner Dually was down
to 20lbs. I inflated and waited a few minutes and tire was loosing air.
Brought to my tire shop and found that the valve stem was loose.
Going to purchase a valve stem tool this week. Scary part is I just purchased the Rig last week and dove 800 miles.

A tire pressure monitoring system is your BEST friend. It will save your butt and possibly your rig. Failing that - yes check all tires every morning before you leave. Having put over 15,000 on this year, moving from CG to CG on the average every 5 days, it is amazing how many I see just get up, connect up and go.

Full timing isn't "always camping". It's a different life style living in an RV.

Get a TPMS system. Very easy and safe to check tire pressure every morning and the most important reading is after about 10 miles of driving. If I have my tire pressures right I find they will all be the same regardless of the weather conditions. The tires on the sunny side are no longer affected as the heat generated from driving and cooling from passing air is the major factor.
Also each time you check a tire with a tire gauge you risk a Schrader valve not seating and giving you a slow leak that may not be noticed until the tire fails 100 or so miles down the road from loss of air.

I actually check my tires regularly with a gauge, but I thump the tires with my tire billy at every stop along the way.
I know the tire thump isn't accepted by the pros as an accurate means of pressure testing but if a tire is several pounds lower than the rest, you can detect a difference in the sound.

Everyone to what fits their needs, but, I check pressure and thump my tires every 8 seconds with my TPMS. I also keep up with the individual temps of each tire, including my toad.

WM will help you pay for at TPMS by letting you overnight for free while you save money for a TPMS.

I had rather leave home without the cell phone as no TPMS.

I think once per trip isn't NEARLY often enough. I check air pressure before each days travel.

I think that I'll take the advice and get a TPMS System installed.

Thanks

For you guys with the TPMS. How many times have you actually had a tire go down that the TPMS detected, that you would not have, by checking pressure on a regular basis ?
