I have had GMAC Insurance for quite a few years. My policy just increased by 25%. I called and they told me it is because of GMAC in Washington State only. Has anybody else that is registered in Washington State, had this increase. If so, what can be done about it?

Insurance companies can raise rates if they can prove to the state insurance commissioner's office that their loss ratio justify the increase. So, there isn't anything you can do about it - except take your business elsewhere.

Another reason may have been due to a change in your underwriting status, such as claims or citations, or even a change in your credit bureau rating. In that case switching to another company could even cost you more. Good luck.

I've had GMAC (thru Good sam) for 2 years. Before renewing this year got a price from Progressive and saved $200.00 with slightly better coverage. It was very easy to get a quote on line.

I just got my renewal from GMAC and it had gone up about $18.00 again so I called and got a quote from Progressive and it was a $1.00 more than GMAC for the same coverage so I'll stick with GMAC. I have been with GMAC for 12 years...

I got tired with GMAC constantly raising my rates (no accidents, ever) and finally decided to go with Foremost. I saved about $50/month. I've never before in my life had insurance rates go up while the value of the insured vehicles was going down.

I have had GMAC for 9 years now. It has gone up maybe 10 or 15 dollars. If mr. ed is saving $50/month, then I would get mine for free. Maybe because he a Fulltimer is why his is so expensive. By the way, I pay $287.00 every six months. I think it is too much considering I have only put 20,000 miles on the MH in the last 9 years, but I really don't think anyone would be much cheaper than that.

Ahhhh, you caused me to think a little bit. I was thinking of the $50/month I saved by changing to a different provider for my supplemental health insurance. To be correct, I realized a savings by going with Foremost vehicle insurance, but the savings weren't as great as $50/mo..
