Has anyone replaced a Winsgard antenna head with a Jack batwing head ?
Was there a noticable improvement ?

Do a search at the top for jack antenna I put one on last spring and think it made a significant improvement. I replaced only the head itself.

Just 2 quick points: not all batwing antennas are Winegards and the Jack is not a batwing.

I replaced my batwing with a Jack a few months ago and am very happy with the reception. The replacement was easy, aiming procedures are a little different.

I made the switch to a Jack antennae and don't really notice much difference (except that now I can't drive off with the antennae extended....) I do get OK reception, but often can't get much at all although I suspect that's more due to remoteness of our sites than the antennae itself. I do wonder why we ALWAYS seem to get a shopping channel or two, even if we can't get any major networks. Do people really buy the junk on those shopping channels?

I was just going to say I bet Mr JACk doesnt like to hear his wonderful antenna to be called a "BATWING" antenna haha...

I notice the dealers are providing the JACK antenna now on new trailers without the "CRANK-UP" capability. They are lower in height than the normal size roof mounted air conditioners so the antenna mount only needs to rotate from the inside and not be a crank-up model like the BATWING was. Pretty neat.

I have never used one but alot of folks really like them.

Love it!!Installation was so simple it took more time to haul my fat can up to the roof than to replace the antenna! We also bought their signal meter which i highly reccomend.

Down side to this height difference: my fiver has the Winegard. On a certain site in Greenridge State Forest (western Maryland) I could use my GPS and a compass to point the antenna toward a station in Hagerstown Maryland. It would come in OK most of the day. With my new TT, I could not pick up that station. The AC unit was blocking the signal!

If you got the Winegard batwing now, the easiest way to upgrade is to go with their Wingman add-on IMO. Wingman Info Here

I replaced our wiengard with a Jack that attaches to the crank up arm. yes, it definitely improved reception. at home, I could get about 12 stations but had to rotate direction about 15 degree to pick up a few. with the jack, I ended up getting 30 stations, w/o needing to rotate.
