I have searched the forum for posts on this subject, but still need some info.
I am currently a DirecTV subscriber. In the past I have taken one of my SD receivers when we are out in the RV. As we will be hosting a Forest Service campground for about 3.5 months this summer we need to reconsider our satellite service. I have a great tripod system that I want to continue to use. I am not interested in a carry out antenna nor one mounted on the top of the fifth wheel. I will be in a highly forested area so the roof top won't work and don't really want to invest in a carry out.
I have been reading about the Dish Network's Hopper and Joey system, but have a couple of questions.
1. What antenna/lnb do I need for the Hopper and Joey? Dish 500 Pro?
2. Can someone explain the how the wiring works? I have read it is a one wire system and if so there has to be a splitter somewhere. If so what kind of splitter?
Does anyone know if the Denver Network channels are still broadcast on a CONUS satellite? In the past I was a Dish Network subscriber and at that time the Denver Networks were CONUS.
Thanks

For a single Hopper install, you first need a Solo Node. Two anntena coaxes come into this node. One output goes to the Hopper & the other to a Joey (or a splitter if you have more than 1 Joey).
BTW, the wiring from sat dish to Solo Node should be quality RG6.
And for 2 or more Joeys, a splitter like this one.
