Yeah, that's the first thing I said to the DW when I saw it. How the HE!! did he hit my way up front on the awning slide and not feel it, then continue all the way to the rear???

An 'accident'? Hitting the awning slide was the accident, anything beyond that is negligence.
I can see, if this is a trailer and not a MH, where he wouldn't have known he was scraping down the side if he was backing in at an angle where he couldn't see the side of your MH. You'd be surprised how much this happens with 18 wheelers, since you can't hear anything strange since you're not inside the trailer. I highly doubt he felt anything. He was scraping down the side, not smashing into it.
That being said, I'd don't think I'd ever want to back up a trailer without a spotter.

yeah, makes sense. I agree though, I never backed without a spotter. Funny, the previous weekend I had it home doing some work and when I got back to the lot, the video screen on my backup camera wouldn't pop out, so I had to have the DW spot me.
There is no more than 2' between us when we park and you cannot come straight back because there are RV's across the lot in front of us. You must come in at an angle and adjust. Seems rather dumb to try this without a spotter.

You NEED a Police report and give it to your insurance company. This will come back to haunt you, if you don't. You are looking at probably $20K plus in damage.

I'm concerned about the slide. If you look at this photo, you can see how part of it is pushed completely against the MH. It was never like that, there was alway a gap similar to what you see above due to the gasket. Plus, if you look further back, you can see the how the bottom edges angle in where he hit it at he back of the slide.
