I do not want this to sound negative in anyway but I need some help. This is my first RV although I have owned Toy Haulers before. I have a 2008 Coachmen (2007 E 450 Chassis) FX31S Freedom Express Racing Edition. We purchased this used with only 14,000 miles on it last year. Well this is one rare bird according to the dealers I have talked with or called. Even Coachmen has a hard time with helping me on it. My battery disconnect relay failed and nobody could find it (3 dealers had no clue and only Coachmen service after my begging told me it was within 3 feet of the water heater) None of the techs had seen anything built like that before and there was real head shaking going on once I showed them. I use my RV constantly as we do off road motorcycle races and I love it but things are starting to break more often. My manual that came with it is pretty useless and I can’t believe there isn’t a more detailed manual out there other than the generic class C one I was given. At the bottom I will list some issues in case anyone wants to offer some assistance but really what I am asking for help on is a good solid contact at Coachmen or a good dealer that will listen and maybe pull some kind of build documentation for my RV. I have no issue paying for it I just want to find it somewhere. There has to be some notes or something on like where they located the battery disconnect relay which was very hard to find once it failed and no longer makes noise. And for those Coachmen owners of one of these no it is not under the bed, the steps, the hood, etc. In fact one dealer was positive there was not one installed except that I told him it used to work when I pushed the button. We could see the wires going under the floor but that was it. I was not going to pay to have a dealer take the floor up to find it when it should have been marked or documented by Coachmen. My son found it by taking the floor up in the bottom cabinet under the bar and a panel there was the relay. Yep this RV is awesome has a bar with four bar stools and a 12 foot couch in the Super slide out. Thank you for any help that can be provided.

Issue 1

I have a street side kitchen slide out that holds the stove and fridge. The moving “boom” harness has twice now been caught in the slide out gears and gotten mangled. When it gets real hot outside it tends to hang down. This is a real design fault in my opinion. Anyone seen this and have an idea how to support this? Thinking of a rubber hose split open but that adds weight and as a result it hangs down even more.

Issue 2

My super slide has twice now (once due to bad battery and once is still a mystery I am trying to resolve) refused to go back in it will go out fine but not come in. I for the life of me and two Camping world store techs cannot find the override if it has one. I don’t even know what brand of slide out it is as they tell me Coachmen uses different manufactures. The hardware sure does not match any pictures in the Manual they gave me. As a side note when this has happened neither slide will come back in but the kitchen slide has a manual override and button I use to manually put it back in. I was told this is a safety switch issue since it relates to both slide outs but I have no clue where it is or how to fix it. Any ideas?

I have a 2012 29QB & was told that for the slides to work the transmission had to be in park with the parking brake on, do not know if that is true. My slide has a manuel retracting device under the slide, they provided a rachet wrench with the unit.
