TST has a new flow thru monitor for their TPMS. They also have an internal sensor with a seven year battery. Which would be the best way to go? On a 14" rim would you need the 2" or 3" valve stem internal mount? Suggestions...opinions?

I have had the older 510 TST for about 5 years, the batteries just died in the sensors so TST offered me a good deal on the new FLow Thru and the 507 monitor. Hopefully they are reliable as the old system. Great Customer Service as well.

What ever one that comes with a temp sensor seems like the only way to go to me. By the time the tire loses pressure in a blowout, it's too late. It builds heat early enough that you might catch it be fore it's too late.

I wish I had the flow-through model. I don't like having to take them off to air them up. that being said, I don't have to air them up that often, the monitor tells me the pressure.

The next time I have need to remove a tire, I plan on putting a hole 180 degrees from current valve stem so I can add a second valve stem to make air adjustments without having to remove the sensor.

Folks, I am missing something so please educate me. It seems some of you are saying you can't add air without taking off some sort of sensor. The sensors for my Silverado are inside the rim. Are there no after market systems for TT's that function that way.

Larry,
They're talking about an external TPMS system that is commonly run on trailers, etc. The sensors screw on to the valve stem and you have to remove them to add air. The sensors transmit to a monitor in the cockpit.

BTW, there are internal systems too, similar to your Silverado, but they're not as common as the external.

Don't know about other systems but TST just introduced their "internal" mount sensors. That's the question...is that the one to go with? Doubt if anyone has them so I'm looking for opinions...

I just installed the internal sensors from TST 507 on my Fleetwood Providence. Used the 3" sensors on the steer front tires and the inside dually tires. I used the 1" sensors on the outside duals.

I have Alcola Aluminum wheels (4) with steel wheels (2) on the inner duals.

I also have 4 screw on sensors that are transfered from vehicle (Buick Enclave) to vehicle (golf cart dolly with Honda CRV. Takes a couple of minutes to remove and install.

Everything works great and there are major improvements since the first problematic unit I bought several years ago. Customer service was great in deciding on the unit and the sensors
