After 12+ years with my Camry – which has been a great car BTW – I decided that at the age of 70 it was time to get something impractical for a change. So, I’m now the proud owner of a 2013 Mustang. I opted for the V6, which has plenty of power for my needs. Would have liked a V8 for that great sound but (here I am being practical again!) couldn’t justify the extra thousands for it. I may invest in a Flowmaster exhaust kit though ….

Heck the V6 Mustang now has a much HP as the 5.0 liter did back in the day. Trust me it's not a underpowered machine. Now, don't do something stupid and get get in a wreck right away. Practice driving it carefully. It's been a lot of years since you have a Rear Wheel Drive machine and your not used to having this kinda car. Just because your older doesn't mean you can't do something stupid.

I was born in Great Falls, Mt. My parents moved when I was 5. I found them when I was 10 - they were in California.

Kind of know where you're coming from. Got the one last real hot rod, probably.
Everyone thinks I've gone over the hill. I should have bought a Prius, be dignified, be old.
Can't scare your passengers, in a Prius though.
Wheeee. Helps to keep me young. Know another RVer that bought a Turbo Porsch. Says it keeps him young.
You old Geezers(over age 100)move over.
See you at Leguna Seca. Bring your Stang.

note: not really. Wife screams if I go over 65 or the tires break loose a little, when she lets me drive it.

Thanks all for the positive – and cautionary – feedback. I appreciate it.

Redcatcher70: When I first started seriously thinking about a Mustang a week ago I decided that, of the available colors, I wanted one of the reds. However, what I got is Sterling Gray Metallic. It is understated and fits my personality; I like it a lot.
