I have seen a short Fleetwood A Class that had a special arm at top of door to keep it at 90 degrees open instead of totally open against the wall of RV. Where would I find such an attachment.

You should be able to find a pneumatic door piston at any home center. They also prevent the door from slamming shut when you close it.

The pneumatic screen door cylinders are designed for doors about 3 inches apart. the RV screen door is abutted to the door when closed!!

Our new Puma has to have a 90 degree hold back due to awning location. I picked up couple of spares pretty easily at our semi-local RV dealership.

I was told to use caution with these devices. Every time you pull the door to shut it or open it you are introducing flex to something that you really want to remain straight. For sure you want to use the lightest one that will do the job for you and not anything bigger. Some doors are built stronger than others.

Could you use a second "Swing-a-Way" handle with a door stop feature up nearer to the door knob puller to hold it open?

I've got a 2005 Fleetwood Fiesta 26Y that has such an arm. It's actually a gas strut similar to those used on a hatchback car. There is a right angle metal bracket with a ball stud mounted on the wall of the RV, and another bracket with a ball mount attached to the door. I don't have details on the strut itself, but I will have that info next weekend as the gas strut just failed this weekend. It was 7 years old, so I don't feel too bad about the failure.

I will post back to this thread next weekend when I have the make and model info off the strut. I'll also try to get some pics of the mounting brackets. Looks like it would be easy to construct.

Mark Your RV was the model I saw I think. Thanks in advance for information on where I might be able to buy the complete set up.
I am annoyed at the fact that the door covers a compartment I use a lot and having to alite the RV to close unlatch the door to close it!!

I just replaced mine at O'Reillys auto store. Since they only go by car model I had to search the supply for one that physically matched. The struts are extended so the pin to pin attachment length measurement is required. About $26.

Readily available at RV stores. We got ours installed at a very small independent operation. They had a bin of them in various sizes. Been running them (2 man doors) for a year with no problem except one did get stressed by a visitor. I had to add screw anchors and it's been good since.
