My wife applied 6" eternalbond tape to the front and rear seams one week ago. I gave her exact instructions, but she did her own thing, to put it nicely (!!!). I would have applied it myself, but IMO I'm to heavy for the roof and she is less then half my weight.
Anyway, I'm not sure the tape is giving a good seal. I have no leaks (never did), but the tape is loose right at the seams by the rain gutters. The caulk was cleaned with eterna-clean and eterna-primer was also used. Some spots seam to have stuck good; such as on the EPDM materal. Is it common for the eterna-bond to not adhere to the plasticy seam materal by the rain gutters? There's only about 1/3"-1/2" of tape on it and the tape is bent 90 degrees from the roof to the rain gutter area.
Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Or is (I hope) this common?
I think it needed your weight up there to roll it so it stuck!!
Eternabond HAS to be rolled HARD to break the microbeads of adhesive to ensure it will stay stuck.

Have your wife put a seam of Dicor 4 inch tape over edge of Eternabond tape and on to aluminum or fiberglass surface of trailer. Wipe all areas down with rubbing alcohol that will be covered with the Dicor tape before applying the tape to remove any dirt or wax.
I have had the same thing happen on the vinyl strip on the roof edge molding! All I did was get the area very clean and added a short piece maybe 4 to 6 inches. Starting at the point of unhappiness just below the vinyl & going up onto the main seam of ebond far enough to go all the way across the vinyl and roll out good no problem, you can usually do that from a ladder.
I never use 6in as it is way too hard to control on a radius,I always use 2 inch for that reason.
I would suggest no benefit from adding yet another product into the mix ,finish the job correctly with Ebond and be done with it! I have had some in service over 6 years now with great results.
I am in the process of doing our 2011 one area at a time now.

For what it's worth I put Eternabond on the front and rear roof seams of my fiver last October. It was applied correctly and seem to work like a champ (i.e. adhered)Well 7 months later and without the trailer moving so much as an in the Eternabond is peeling like a sunburn in August. I removed it,and it stuck in just enough spots to make the chore a glorified mess.Maybe I got a bad batch? but it was an expensive failure.I did e-mail Eternabond and they have not got back to me.
You should be able to go up on the roof if you use a 3/4 inch 3X3 sheet of plywood to distribute your weight. Use two pieces and move them along as you walk across the roof. I go up on mine which is 3/8 inch plywood, roof rafters with a rubber membrane. Without my plywood stepping stones the roof complains loudly about my weight.
