Well KDK, let me LOL if you think Michelin customer service is any better.

At least with GY you weren't having blowouts at 65 MPH or more like so many people with Michelin's were having and for the most part Michelin told all those people it was underinflation, overinflation, or they had hit something. In otherwords it was "CUSTOMER ABUSE" so 'go suck air' because in Michelin's mind they have never built a defective tire.

I have run GY's with the last 3 coaches. One was 19.5 and the last 2 were 22.5. No issues at all, and I run heavy and a lot of miles in the heat.

Everyone will have an opinion about tires, especially Goodyear. Here's my experience. My coach came with G169 Goodyears on them made in 2002. At 4 years and 25000 miles I replaced them because was they were "rivering" badly. I put G670's H on next. At 4 years (2010) and about 50000 miles the steer tires began to river. I rotated them to the back and haven't had a problem. I can still see the rivering a bit but its not getting worse. So far no rivering on the steer tires I rotated up.
(72000 miles)

I'm due to replace two tires based on age. (and the condition of those rivered tires)

I don't know, maybe the G661 tires will be ok.

I won't be buying Goodyear tires. Gonna try something else.

Others have had good luck with them. I didn't.

Considering the tens of thousands of Goodyear and Michelin tires that are out there, and the fact that those two brands are used exclusively on most new RV's for decades, their record for performance is outstanding.
Sure some of those off brands MAY perform well, but they all, in total, represent a very tiny fraction of the RV tires in use, so no valid comparison can be made. One person having good luck with some Korean tire is no guaranty that every one of that manufacturer's truck tires are great.

So you're saying that the number of trucks/truckers that might use a given tire don't count, because they're not RVs?

Not sure I follow the logic there.

Are you saying that truckers drive trucks and monitor their tires exactly the same way that RV owners do? Are you saying that you never see a truck going down the highway empty and that they are always loaded close to max gross like an RV? Are you saying that you think over the road truckers let their vehicles sit for months on end, parked in one location, with little or no protection from the elements?
I guess I am not sure about your logic to even try to compare a commercial truck's tire service life compared to the AVERAGE RV, which puts on about 5000 miles per year. .

Most trucks that I have been around and it's been alot of them, have their tires mounted and filled to 110lbs. They run fully loaded, and they run empty. They do not adjust their tire pressures to loaded and empty. Most tire problems I have ever had was a tire that went low and I never noticed it right away and it would either cause failure or strange wear patterns. A lot of RVers like to run there tires at lower pressure for a better ride but yet need TPM's to tell them that there is a tire flat. If you can't feel a flat tire how are you going to feel a properly inflated tire. I am talking DP with air ride. Spring ride vehicles are different when it comes to ride but if you run a tire low for better ride then you will probably create a wear problem.

Topflite51: What Moisheh said would happen to be true! I will give you my side of Goodyears customer support. At 6000 miles my G670's started rivering and I called Goodyear about this. They stated there was not a problem with the tires but a MH problem. I googled "goodyear rivering" and came up with hundreds of threads on this subject however. Granted not everyone is having this problem, but for those of us that are it is real and after changing tire brands no more problem. They told me to get a front end alignment, balance and to rotate them front to rear. The alignment shop said it was within specs. and then had the tires dismounted and rotated to the rear. Now at 34000 miles all 6 tires are rivering and the front have broken through the outside tread and causing flat spots with a shimmy in the steering wheel(tires are still in good ballance). I called Goodyear customer service and again was told it was my MH's problem. I asked them about the many cutomer complaints about this issue and they again denied any knowledge of this problem, but however after a long conversation they said a district rep. would contact me!
Great I'm finally getting somewhere. That was last fall and I'm STILL waiting for that rep to call!!! So much for customer care.
Having new Michelin XZA3+ put on next week. KDK

If it was flat out problems with the GY 670's...why do mine at between 24 and 25K miles not show a thing of rivering and only minor perceptible wear at the outer edge...Mine are 5 years old and I haven't had the front end aligned in the 12 years Ive owned it...!!!!

My 02 Ambassador had GYs from the factory when I bought it in 04. Rivering badly by 25K miles and replaced with Toyo. No further problems and tires looked like new at 55K miles when we traded the coach. New coach 07 Scepter in 07. Again had GYs from the factory. At 5K miles took to a truck shop and had tires spin balanced and front end alignment check. GYs rivered badly by 28K miles. Checked with GY dealer who "never saw that problem before". Replaceed with Bridgestone and at 46K miles still look like new. When I took coach to GY dealer about rivering he tried to sell me new GYs for the front. Right.
