My Heart Interface Freedom 20 has a bad charger and I am ready to replace it. Looking at the Xantrex Freedom 458. Does anyone have any preferences? recommendations?

Hey Fellow Forum Members....

Does anyone have that link to "The History of Inverters" posted here awhile back and Gary's comments about the Magnum inverter? Might save this new member a bucket of misery.

I prefer the Magnum inverter/charger. You get what you pay for, in an inverter......

Take a look at the Outback Power Systems VFX2812M. These units are excellent inverter chargers. I have installed many in cabins and homes with very few problems.

I replaced my Freedom 20 with a Magnum 2012 -- the "extra" perk is that the remote control wiring (RJ11 I think) and size of the Magnum remote is the same as the Freedom's.

Hi,

If and when my converter dies I'll replace it with a Magnum inverter/charger.

Man! Isn't it great when 100% of the replies on a thread are smart :-)

And to Gary at Magnum:
See what just the smallest amount of exposure did? There is a gigantic cadre of TRACE/OUTBACK followers (some border on fanatic) out here that have no idea whatsoever that Magnum is a product sibling. You folks need to press this to the hilt.
