I always think it funny when I hear it's too hot in the dez in the summer months. Thats why you have a Toy Hauler ride early when it not hot, kick it the rest of the day later enjoy you campfire I ride all year around.

A bunch of us from Reno are headed to Mina, NV.
The population is about 155, but it has an RV park.
There are tons of roads and trails to abandoned mines, ghost towns, etc.
Very ATV friendly.

I live in Bakersfield and can tell you once temp hits 105 or higher it stops being fun. It is just too hot and that is camping at the lake. July-Sept we are in the mountains or the coast.

Last year we drove down into the Los Angeles area (without our 5er) on the Friday of Memorial weekend and watching the traffic trying to get out was amazing. Everybody down there goes somewhere. May be a good weekend to stay home a work on a mod.

Headed to the high country about 5000 to 7000 ft.Gonna wait till probably Thurs to decide where, lots of great riding around Williams,Parks,Flagstaff and Munds Park area.I think will have about 17 trailers in the group.Sometimes rough finding a big area, but we go in the backwoods.Usually to hard to get to for most, but its away from the crowds..I hope.Havent been out in 5 weeks and Ive been packed for 4. Hooked up my Ipad to the outside stereo, new (better) speakers and Garth sounded really nice...Can we leave now??

We are going to Taboose creek. If my job schedule permits it. Never been there before, have some friends going who have been there before.

I was just in Mina. I did not see an RV park, the only thing there that was open was the Mina Club and we invaded it for the evening, WOW what a night. As the saying goes, "what happens in Nevada, stays in Nevada" (I modified that slightly ). There are a TON of old mines and ghost towns to see and lots of history of mining in the area, our guides/friends have been riding there for 10+ years and have done a ton of research, it was quite interesting.

We'll be at the Moonrocks. I hope we have decent weather-- last year it snowed.
