When you have time, in the search box type in 'Transmission temps'. You'll be reading most of the day as I did one day. Lots of good information..
Good luck.

If you have the factory transmission cooler, you will be able to see it through the front grill. It is mounted between the front end support tubing. As others have said, 170 deg. F. is no big deal for transmission temperature.

Wow 170 is normal towing temp. You will be wasting money to try to change that IMO.

Thanks all! We were obviously given some VERY wrong information. We're still going to flush the transmission fluids and refill (needs to be done anyways), and make sure there truly is a transmission cooler on there like the sticker says, then go from there. Thanks!

Open your hood, there should be 3 finned objects behind the grill. Radiator, Air conditioner evaporater and a transmission cooler. There is nothing that can go "wrong" with a transmission cooler, except for leaking. You could add a larger cooler, but I couldn't tell you if it would gain you much or anything over your stock cooler.
