Run it under the hood. From there there is two ways to go. In the fuse box under the hood there might be and interior light fuse to hit that will go hot when you turn on the interior lights. Or you can follow the main loom that goes thruogh the fire wall from that box to the interior. I would not use the floor plugs as they get too much road grime and water sprayed up on them and you dont want to have water or later rust issues.
My 2011 GMC has the rubber plug under the driver carpeting. It already has e-cable coming through it, I added my wires for the electric steps and sealed. I ran along the e-cable that was already there. Carpet lifted up after taking sill plate off.
