Hi there-
I just got back from Cave city KY. and I had my awning out during the day well long story short I forgot to roll it back in place and we went to bed and about 3:00am we had severe weather moving thru well it took my awning and it bent the 2 post. I can roll the awning out and in but is very hard to open it by using the lock mechanism where the arm locks in place. I got it to close and we made it back OK.
Now my question is does anyone knows what the 2 arms that open the awing will cost? and is this is something I can do my self?
Thank you in advance...

The arms are easy to replace. Remove one screw at the end near the awning roller ( make sure you have a good hold on it as it is under tension) and the other end just latches into place. Now the cost of new arms is another story. I never priced them, but I don't imagine they are cheap. Maybe you could find someone parting out a unit and get them that way.

Depending on the brand and parts required, $300 to $800 is in the ball park. Insurance should cover it. Take photos of the damage.

The most common arm to bend is the inner arm- the one that slides inside the main arm.
For an A&E 8500 these are in the $30 range, and take about 15 seconds to replace.
You have to get up above more than 50% of the hardware needing replacement before it gets expensive- an entire hardware set will be in the $400 range.
