I just purchased a fifth wheel. Not knowing very much about the operation and functions, I failed to close all three tank valves. My wife and I used the fifth wheel for three days and when I went to drain the tanks, at the dump station, I very quickly found my error. My question is that all three tanks, the two gray water tanks and the black water tank all mixed as a result of the valves being open. After I dumped the tanks I refilled the two gray water tanks and drained them again, trying to rinse them out.
My question is have i done any damage to the two gray water tanks? Is there anything else I should do now, besides making sure the tank valves are closed next time?
I would appreciate any feedback.

There shouldn't be any damage done. And with a good rinse your good to go. Enjoy your rig!

If your really concerned put your favorite brand of sanitizer in the grey tanks before next trip, maybe a gallon or so of diluted bleach, let it slosh around on the trip out.
On one of our first trips with our previous fiver (had a TT before) I had a brand new sewer hose blow apart while dumping. learned free sewer hoses are worth just that nothing.

You're probably ok but performing a sterilization may put your mind to rest - you know - the one with bleach and water and flushing your tanks.

There is really no difference between gray, galley and black tanks other than the size of the drain pipe. No damage will be done. Your galley (or gray tank that handles kitchen waste, has as much odor as the black tank even when used correctly.

It makes no difference. The tanks are the same design and same materials. They are all waste tanks.

Personally, I wouldn't give it a thought. You already did what I would have done. But if you want to go one step further: just add a couple cups of bleach to the gray tanks and fill and let sit overnight and drain.

Agree...I'd be more worried about getting my hands and arms washed/sanitized after that adventure....
