Is there a way to wire up my F-350 to supply 30 amp power to my travel trailer to run the ac while towing?

No, I don't want people in the TT while towing. But it would be nice to flip a switch on the dually about 50 miles away from camp so that we can set up in a cool camper. Or so we can stop at a rest area for a while and have ac.

Probably crazy but I figured it's worth it to ask.

A/C operates on 110V AC power......your truck supplies 12V DC power.

The battery charge line thru your 7 pin connector can barely recharge the TT batteries while towing.

Now if you had a 3000W generator in back of truck, power cord connected to TT, A/C set to 'on', time delay relay with remote start on generator.......

OR just turn on A/C when you get to destination and have power hooked.

Reading this posting got me thinking:

I have a 3000 Watt generator and a small TT...........
And believe it or not I'm reluctant to "PULL THE CABLE OUT OF THE SIDE BOX" and connect to Generator sitting in P/U truck at back of truck.

It's always a "pain" to push cable BACK into Storage "BOX".

I carry three (3) batteries, and very seldom use generator because of my dislike for above task.

Sooooo.... why can't I pull this cable out of "BOX" and LEAVE it out, securely mounting cable from "BOX" hole onto side of TT, running cable across tongue and into back of truck plugging into Generator?

Now at each stop all I must do is turn generator switch to ON position. Forsee any problems?
I could look to bring "another" AC cable thru front wall of TT and leave AC cable in BOX alone someday....

Put a MaxxAir on your roof vent and leave it open while towing - that will help some.

This is what we do. We have 2 on our coach with fantastic fans. Keeps the coach cooler than you would think going down the road in 100* heat.

Not really any practical way to do it. But you could secure a genny someplace on the truck or trailer to keep it going. A gen with low oil shutdown probably wouldn't work well though as any hill would shut it off.

Generator on the back of the trailer is what we do.

Never had an issue with either my MH generator or the Hondas we have installed in our fire engines. Both have low oil shutoff but never had one shut down even on a steep hill.
