Okay, All you pet lovers and View lovers. We just bought a 2009 View J layout. We have two mature cats. We are trying to figure out how to deal with the litter box.
We thought of creating a cat door to under the bed and have an access to the outer accessible storage area that can be accessed from outside.
Another thought was a litter box in the shower stall that can be easily moved for a shower. If a little cat litter sand went down the shower drain would it be a problem? O think it is gravity flow discharge, so there is no pump to foul?
Has anyone done anything like this? Does anyone have other solutions?
Any ideas or feedback would be appreciated greatly.

We used to put litter box in the shower and block the door part way open during the night. Now our rabbit has his litter box in his travel cage so problem solved. Can't leave him out at night as he reenacts the charge of the light brigade. (VBG)

We use the spot where the W/D would go for the litterbox. I have given some thought to replacing the U-Line icemaker with a litterbox because we don't use it. I don't like ice from some of the CG water and just buy a bag when we need it.

A while back when I traveled with my cat, I had to try out different setups. Cats can be fussy and expect you to read their minds to find out just what their expectations are. My dog is easy. All you have to do is ask a few questions and everyone is happy. With the cat, a litter box with an integrated cover that has an entrance hole keeps things tidy. Easy enough to move about the RV when necessary. Some friends did what you suggested with access to a storage area. It seems odors worked their way into the walls and paneling.

We use the shower for the litter box. I found a rubber bathtub plug that fit just right so any cat litter won't go down the drain. During the day the cats usually reside under the couch. When we stop the shower and bath door are propped open for their convenience.

My Tiger CX is a lot smaller than the View. Even with the small wet bath, I just keep the door bungee'd open and litter box on the shower floor. Easy enough to set out in the aisle when I need to sit on the stool or shower.
I use a cut-down plastic storage container for the litter box, since I couldn't find a small-enough 'real' one. I've trimmed an old yoga mat to fit the shower floor to catch any litter scatters; it covers the drain. In case you use clumping litter, that's important. You do not want that stuff going into the tanks. I remove that when I shower. A quick wipe with a damp paper towel takes care of the few litter particles that get under it.

Thanks to all who had insights. I am waiting with anxiety to see how Badger and Harry do on the road. They are both indoor house cats. Badger is Alfa type that would love to go outside. Harry feral cat that walks like a leopard and hides under the bed when he is scared.

We have traveled extensively with two cats in our 2011 View 24J.
There are two spots we place the litter. One is behind the drivers seat--where it is the right size to be out of the way. It can be left there all the time and still give room to walk through the coach. Even more room when the slide is out.
The second spot is on a platform (a box will do) that is positioned in the coach step-well so it brings the litter to the level of the floor. If we're not going out that door for a while (traveling to a destination), we'll leave it there to give the cats even more room. Either spot works great for them and since we clean the litter frequently when traveling, those locations are very convenient for us as well.

Hey Steele Grey,
Great ideas and very simple to deal with. I like the behind the seat the best.
Thanks
