So I want to do a little embroidery this summer while out at my campsite...I believe we are on 30amp service (private meter) does anyone know if running my home sewing/embroidery machine can be done while the a/c is running and not blow the electric?? Crazy I know but I can make a couple extra bucks on the road if this will work....

Somewhere on your sewing machine there is a plate which tells its current and/or wattage requirements. I suspect that it is in the range of at most a hundred watts or so (1 to 2 amps) which would not present a significant electrical load.

My Bride takes hers (Bertina 730) every time we go camping. It does not draw any excessive amount of current.

Enjoy it

I take my sewing machine everywhere I go! I usually sew at the picnic table and get some odd glances. Oh well, I'm also making a few $$. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my DH will get me an embroidery machine for my birthday in June!

I've never had an issue blowing the electric even with the furnace, lights, TV and coffee maker on too. I love camping!

It will depend on how much draw your sewing machine has, check the specs, they should be on the machine. There are a number of people on this site who do sew while rving. The initial draw when you start the machine could be a problem.

Keep in mind that usually when you are sewing you also need to have a iron on and that would most likely be too much draw. I cannot run my sewing machine and iron off the same outlet.

What about sewing early in the day when it is cooler? You could run the AC to cool down the RV, turn it off then do your sewing. Run the AC long enough to cool things down again as needed between projects.

If you slow down the stitch rate it may reduce draw.

My wifes Pfaff 2170 and laptop draw very little amps. You will be fine. She sews and quilts the whole time we are on the road and at home.

You could always run a cord from the pole for additional loads
