http://s907.photobucket.com/albums/ac280/billyray50/HappiJac/Hello,

Wife and I bought new 2012 Adventurer 86 FB three weeks ago
from a dealer in wisconsin and thought I did a good job with inspecting TC before taking delivery.Obviously from these pictures overlooked the jacks inner tubes when service tech and I loaded camper on truck. It was raining when we started to load the camper but no excuses. Contacted Happijac and they requested pics on april 24th and sent them. Still waiting for reply. Jacks seem to be working fine. First time owning electric jacks. Do not understand why jacks inner tubes would have so much rust and rough texture? Should I also contact Adventurer on this issue? Would appreciate any advice on this.

Mine are 13 and just beginning to show some spots of rust on the inner tubes....My outers started flaking about 3 years ago...I just sand the bad spots and use Rustoleum...
Yours are showing rust where the tubes normally do not touch the outer.
Those 4 nylon glides are to keep the tube centered at the bottom.

I would contact HJ...If they are new something in the painting process went wrong....I have read on our forum that some folks have been treated fairly in regards to this problem.

I would be contacting everybody I could. IMO, that much scraping and loss of paint will translate into a shortened life span of the roller bearings up in the outer tube. If they only last half as long as they are supposed to, do you just accept the fact that they are working fine today so don't worry about it?

Happijac replaced mine under warranty. They said they the outer tube should not have cut the paint off of the inner tube

My 2009 did the same thing the first season, I have to repaint them every year. My jacks have convinced me that that anything thats says Happijac on it is just plain junk. There is a reason why their nickname is CRAPPYJAC. I am surprised that camper manufactures still use their junk.

**UPDATE**
Regarding my post on Happijac innertube rust I contacted Gary at Happijac and they will be replacing jacks with a new zinc plated inner tube version instead of powder coat after the camping season in the fall. Happy camping.

That's great news. I found Gary to be very helpful with my outer tube paint issue a few years ago. To me a, how well a company handles issues is equally important to whether they have issues.
