Thank you all for the suggestions and well wishes. We were parked near the CG bathhouse and will likely use their faclities whenever possible but we wanted to try and use everything in the TT just to get a feel for it. We actually have two plastic tubs that I've had for years when "camping" that fit the sink perfectly. We used these after it became obvious we had filled the gray tank. We began pouring this in the black tank (another helpful tip I picked up here on RV.net).
Oh, one other observation that I failed to mention is how surprised I was at how far 6 gallons of hot water will go. This actually leads me to believe that the showers didn't do as much to fill the gray tank as letting water run in the sinks while cooking, washing dishes, brushing teeth etc...

As others have mentioned... In addition to conservation, a portable tank for dumping would allow you to easily empty your holding tanks. Thedford & Barker are the two big players in this field, though you could use a 5 gallon bucket for unloading gray water... some campgrounds might allow you to run gray water into the woods, though this is typically discouraged due to sanitary & environmental concerns.
Happy Camping!

I have an extra "gray water hose" with cap on it to drain my gray water tank at night at the campgrounds. I usually look for a bush or woodline or foilage that need watering. I usually empty it late at night so that it is not bothering any other campers during the active daytime hours.

To each his own... I'm sure tent campers would say the same about any setup with wheels.
When I hear "RVing" I think of posh RV resorts. I understand some enjoy stays at a CG with lots of activities for the family, but for me, I prefer to stay/camp in the woods... mostly outside.
Happy RV/Tent/Pop-up/cabin Camping!

Since I usually only go out for weekends I put my dirty dishes in a plastic tub, haul them back home, and run them through the dishwasher. While the dishwasher is running I repack the trailer with clean dishes out of my home cupboard.
I also use paper plates and cups a lot.

We usually camp next to the river so we just run our hose straight into the water. It gets diluted quickly that way...

I'll bite...almost all the campgrounds in my area have a stricked policy against this, the fact that you do it after dark leads me to believe you know it's wrong. You do what you will but you shouldn't be advising someone new to RV'ing to follow your bad example.
