My new to me camper has a plug that looks like this
My site has a regular 110 outlet. Am I going to have to spend the summer without electricity?

That is a 50 amp connector you will need a 50 to 30 and a 30 to 20 adapter.

You are not going to be happy with 110 (20 amp service) for a camper that size.

We plug into 20 amp at home to load and unload the moho. That will run the fridge and a couple of lights here and there but a 50 amp rig won't run much hooked to 15 or 20 amp.

Thanks for your help. I didn't know that this would be so complicated. I never heard of a campsite only having 20 amps so didn't think anything of it until I went to plug it in last weekend. I guess using the air, microwave or the hot water tank are out of the question.Could I get some kind of generator or solar?

gens are great if you can afford them (the quieter the better), but some places won't let you run them between evening-ish and dawn-ish hours...

Ask the campground if they have 30 or 50 amp sites. A 30 amp will get you by but you cannot run the microwave and air cond. at the same time most likely. 20 amps will be a challenge. I would suggest you run your water heater and fridge on propane.
On 20 amps you will have to shut your air off to run your microwave.

Hi RaiderGirl,
You can use the air conditioner, or the microwave, or the hot water heater. Just not all three at the same time.
Do monitor the voltage. It would be good to know what each device in the RV draws.
I often heat up the water once a day (in the morning)--then do "load balancing" for the rest of the day between any other high draw items.
Another "route" to go is to have a large inverter and power just the converter from shore power.
Some inverters also will draw from the battery bank on a temporary basis when high demand items start up.

They do not have any 30 or 50 AMP sites. How can I run the fridge and hot water tank on propane? I don't mind not having AC I'm in PA so it doesn't get that hot here plus it gets cold there at night. I just want the lights, microwave, cell phone chargers, stereo and hot water tank to work. During the week while I'm not there and only the fridge is running won't the battery charge and give me some extra power on the weekends while I'm there? I really appreciate all the help and I'm sorry if I'm driving everyone crazy.
