Like the title states my floor split over winter. My trailer is a 09 Jayflight G2 25RKS and it split in 4 place around every floor vent. I wa wondering if this is common and if Jayco has been fixing this problem. Thanks.

Could you give more information on what you mean by "split"? Is it the vinyl floor, the wood under it, or both?

The vinyl floor split open in four places. Also know as a cold crack.

This is a phenomena that we hear more about each year. I never heard of such a thing 5 years ago. I suspect it has something to do with the materials the floors are being constructed of now versus the past.

It has to do with the way the flooring is installed in RVs and follows a drop in temperature. The floor was installed before the cabinets, so the edges are fixed in place. When it gets cold inside the trailer, the flooring contracts and since fixed in place on the edges, once it contracts enough, it rips.

Our shower surround cracked the 2nd year we owned our current TT. It was an extremely cold winter (like 20 below for days). The surround is installed with screws on the edges. No room for expansion or contraction of material (some kind of PVC plastic stuff like most are made of). Well, we never replaced it. It still has the crack, but I've used silicon putty and just covered up the crack. The silicon allows for the expansion and contraction now. And the crack has never gotten bigger. I figure, if I ever sell the camper ... which will probably be never ... I'll go to Home Depot or Lowes and find a replacement, like you'd put in your shower at home (a wall panel type). Until then, it's perfectly fine the way it is.

Fixing your floor might be a bit of a challenge. You might just look into covering the entire floor with carpet now and be done with it. Swapping out the vinyl will be a bit of a challenge, especially with it being originally installed on the floor first and then cabinets and wall put on top of it. It's easier to just cover it and move on.

After remodeling 2 houses, completely ... EVERY room, restarting from the studs outward, installing a bit of carpet in a camper is nothing.

I concur. Having said that, nothing beats laminate for durability, which is what I did about 7 years ago. It still looks like new. Also glued a heavier lino on top of existing one. Still there today with no issues.

Jayco offered $500 towards the fix, if it was in another month they would have done nothing. They are calling it a good will repair, something tells me it is very common occurance.

This happened to me with our previous Trailer (Rockwood Roo Hybrid) What we did to replace it was we found for lack of a better name, peel and stick tiles. They are vinyl tiles and have a strong adhesive back. I cut the cracked linoleum back to the walls and edges of cabinets and installed the tiles with ease and it looked as good or better than factory linoleum did.
