I have a Samsung 23" LCD (2 years old) and just got a Vizio 26" LED LCD. Both work just fine.

From what I've read no one is best for an RV application. Side by side you will notice differences in color and general image quality. When I replaced the TV I was more interested in fitting the biggest model that would fit in the space provided. I was also concerned with front facing speakers and being able to reach the various switches once mounted (in case of lost or broken remote). Also I want an extra HDMI input on the side for when we bring along the home DVR. Found a 32" Vizio on sale at Sam's for 1/2 price and jumped on it.

Before

After

The one feature I wasn't looking for but the set has is wireless networking applications such as NetFlix. We're watched a couple of movies by linking the TV to my cell phone to stream the video. Picking a TV is a lot like picking a coach. Set a budget, find a floor plan, then find a coach. Set a budget, decide what features and size fits, find a set that meets your needs.

Vizio from Wal-Mart. Best tv for the money. Have 3 of them perfect picture.

+1 as long as it's Vizio LED LCD. The LED sets are much lighter (less mass to be affected by travel) and draw less power. I have had 2 Samsung and now use a Vizio; excellent value.

We are going to replace our older tube style TV with a flat screen in our Winnebago Journey. Will the LED/LCD TV's endure RV vibrations and extreme cold and hot temperatures during storage? We see the flat screens in the newer RV's and wonder how much of an issue it is.

I just installed a 32" Dynex LED from Best Buy for $199.00

At 18lbs and only 65watt usage you can't go wrong..

As you can tell they are durable even with Dale jumping on his. I agree that LED is preferred because it is lighter, thinner, slightly better picture, takes less energy and gives off virtually no heat.

I put a 32" Vizio LCD ($275 at Costco) in my Winnebago last month. Yeah I could have gone with an LED model, but I wanted front firing speakers and didn't want to spend another $100 on an LED model. I dare anyone to show me the picture difference in the LCD vs the LED Vizio. The LED Samsung tvs don't have front firing speakers either.

There is a sticky in the Winnebago forum at RVForum.net with PICTURES of us Winnie owners that have replaced the old CRT TV's in our unit. You must be a member of RVForum.net to see the pictures, otherwise all you can see is the text of our remodeling. I have included my install pictures in that thread.

HERE is the sticky with pictures of some of our replacements. (make sure you are signed in as a member to be able to see the pictures)

I have an Insignia 42" Plasma up front and a Samsung 32" LCD in the back. Both have done well in storage, during a 1,700 mile trip and while in use during my full-time adventures. They hold up fine and both do great.
