So we finally just bought our first travel trailer! It's me, the wife, and our 14 month old son.....who is into everything! My question is, when trying to relax and hanging around outside, what does everyone use, for lack of better words, to corral small kids? Hate to put him in a pack and play, but then again, he doesn't like staying in one spot long.

Ummm good luck with that. No real way to corral a 14 month old. We always took lots of walks, and did lots of outdoor activities, wear them out. Remember it's just a phase soon to be replaced by a new one

I try to stay as active as he does, so I guess we'll see who wears who out the quickest!!!

My brother and I used to get tied out on the lawn when we were youngsters. Is that still legal?

We camped with our kids when they were young. Was a challenge at times but well worth the memories.
I do think we were lucky. Each of our kids seemed to respect a campfire, but we burn wood at home too, so they see fire all the time.
As mentioned above, have plenty for them to do and see. Makes it easier for all. Even at 14 months, they can carry small pieces of firewood and stack it. Include them in everything. We found that worked well.

They still sell the safety harnesses. I have seen children with them on and mamas with the leash in their hand.

Better safe than sorry.

Tonka trucks! Worth their weight in gold. We've been camping with our boys since they were only a few months old. Trucks and a pile of dirt/logs etc would keep them busy for hours. Me too for that matter

Here is what we used. It allowed one to gather firewood, or whatever while the other made food.
