I have a question about Google Maps. How often do they update their views? I just looked a location and the aerial view is at least 6 months outdated.

Then I looked at the street view and the picture is outdated by over 4 years.

The way it works with iPad is you have to drop a pin on the map then click it. A street view then pops up.

Google is now re-doing most major cities. The car was seen in our city last month.

You can get Street View from Google Maps. I haven't been able to get it on Google Earth. On GM, select satellite layer, hold your finger on the street area that you want to view and an address box will pop up. Then click on the box. A street view will show.

Press and hold the location for a few seconds. An estimated address will come up. Tap on that and you'll see an option for street view.

They're doing most of the populated world. I don't know their schedule, but four years isn't exactly ancient. Before people like Google, the satellite or aerial images for many areas were black and white images from the USGS circa 1990. I guess we're getting spoiled.
