I had another thread that touched on this but wanted to put this question out front.
Can any of you provide feedback on draining your gray tank through a garden hose using something like this, i.e. sewer hose from black and running garden hose from gray to the fitting on the back of the elbow? Are there any flow issues using such a small hose?
90 deg elbow with hose fitting
OR do you think it would be easier and more efficient for me to go with 2 separate hoses and use one of these?
Y connector
Just not sure which will be more manageable and/or if it's worth messing with either. The main consideration for me is I'm never on extended trips, so my black usually lasts me the duration of the trip. I usually just switch over and then back again at dump time (separate drain lines).

Unless You are using a Macerator a regular Garden Hose should only be used to rinse out the various "Stinky Slinky" Components. Not used as a Drain.
That said I have seen People using Short lengths of Hose in some "Dry Camping" situations to empty their Grey Tanks into a "Blue Boy" or a Bucket to transport the liquid to a disposal site. Usually They had a Sewer Cap with a Hose adaptor, also sold at CW Etc.

Sorry but there isn't any reason you can't use a plain garden hose for draining the gray tank.
Of course the black tank will require a sewer hose. An alternative method would be to use the Macerator, or Sewer Solution for both and use the same small hose.

This is used to connect garden hose to rig.

It is common to use a garden hose for the grey tank. Some rigs don't even have a 3 inch outlet like in some pop ups.
Get at least a 5/8 inch diameter hose or even a 3/4 if you can find one. There could be small peices of food debris passing through the hose.

I have 3 tanks and a host of hoses. The black tank and the front gray tank drain via a common outlet and manifold. The rear "Wash water" Gray tank has it's own outlet.
So I have the following options:
3" hoses, using "Y" adapter
3" Hose for the front tanks, and a 25' GRAY 3/4" garden hose for the rear tank, this feeds the garden hose connector in the sewer adapter elbow or it can feed the "Y" adapter, I normally feed the elbow.
Macerator with 50' of BLACK 3/4" hose for any or all tanks (using 10ga extension cord for the rear tank) when needed.
WHat I use, depends on the site. All work well.

I boondock most of the year and what I have used for years to drain my gray tanks are from right at the end of the trailer drain pipe I put on a clear sewer adapter then at the end of that I put a Termination Cap with a hose connection and for a hose I use a lay flat hose like this and I have never had a problem with this setup. It takes up very little for in the storage bay.

Guys, does anyone know if I can use the 90 deg elbow w/ hose fitting in conjunction with a Rhinoflex hose?.....or is that not possible due to the types of fittings?

I'm not familiar enough with what will work with Rhinoflex, but they do have their own version of the fitting you are asking about.

I don't think that one has the garden hose fitting.
