I have a '99 CC with an Intec back-up camera and monitor. The monitor has failed and I am trying to find a replacement. I contacted Voyager and gave them the model # but they do not have a direct replacement. Have any of you run into this issue and if so how did you resolve it? The monitor is model CVM550 made by Intec. Thanks for any help.

I had a Sony B/W monitor built into the dash. After not finding a replacement that would fit in the hole, I put a black plate behind the dash bezel and flat mounted the 5" color monitor from Rear View Safety. I spliced and soldered the old cable to the new instead of running a new cable.

Bob are you saying that the cable from the camera to the monitor is not coax but wires? If so did they provide a good schematic to make this easier or did you have to figure out by trial and error what wire went where?

Thanks

Bill,
Most of the wires were color coded the same. There were two wires that were not so I twisted together and tested first. Mine were wires, not coax.

Thanks for the tips. I tried RVCAMS but they couldn't help and all of the others I have tried are scratching their heads as well. I have an 8 pin connector and everybody is telling me it has to be a 12 pin. I guess the good thing is I can do all the checking on the internet and save myself a ton in gas.

When my factory installed monitor died, it was no longer available. The folks ar rvcams.com found a replacement model and even had all of the adapters and a trim piece to make it work. Great folks to work with.

About two years ago, I had the same problem (Intec monitor) on my Holiday Rambler. I have PDF document with explanations and pictures of how I replaced the monitor and camera with a 7 inch lcd monitor and two cameras (close up and distant view) on rear of coach. If you want a copy, send me an email address via PM.

The Intec monitor will not simply slide out through the hole in the dash. It is larger than the opening, and must be removed from under the dash. It weighs about the same as a tube type 13 inch tv.

The Intec system uses a 6 pin cable, and the replacement LCD system only needs 4 pins, so it is possible to adapt the old cable to work with a new monitor and camera.
