Will be spending a few months where it rains all the time. Could anyone recommend a good dehumidifier?
Thank you.

I bought this one last September. I connected a drain hose to it and it has been running continuously since I installed it. It is easy to service and has run flawlessly for me - keeping the humidity to 30% all winter long here in western WA. A reliable dehumifier is important to me as I'm a fulltimer.

I researched this two years ago: Frigidaire sounded the best. I bought one, and found it to be very quiet, which was one of my primary concerns. I got it at one of the local lumber yards, I think Lowe's.

A dehumidifier is a very good idea.

I live in Texas where humidity is a problem. Most RV AC units will end up leaving the coach clammy unless run for hours on end, so I'd use the AC unit for temperature, not humidity control.

I would recommend a full size compressor based dehumidifier that can be placed in the bathtub or shower while the coach is not occupied and drain into the grey water tank. The Peltier-based dehumidifiers (like from Eva-Dry) just don't pull the water out as effectively as the compressor ones, although because of the compressorless design, they are a lot quieter.

I have a Haier 30 pint compressor unit I got from Walmart. Other than it being Chinese and a bit heavy, I like it just fine. It has a hose outlet that is high enough to run into the tub, but I don't bother, I just dump it daily when camping and every month or so when storing. Around here it's cold when it rains, so the AC unit isn't a good solution. The Haier is about as loud as my trailer's AC but not as quiet as the furnace. We were using it in March at a campsite right off the Pacific Ocean during heavy rain and pulled about a gallon of water out of the air in 3 hours. It really helped with the condensation in the trailer- before using it I could see where all the aluminum studs were in the walls, on the inside.

I live in central va. where the summers are very very humid and I find this same issue with RV AC units. Most people say they are a great dehumidifier, but we just end up with a cold clammy moist feeling RV after running one all day.

I also would suggest anyone in a very wet climate to use the AC for climate control and a dehumidifier for humidity.

I have the same humidifier. used it for over a year, works great. solved our humidity problem at the beach as well in the winter time. Using it today at the beach in S. Oregon, fills up the tank in about 24hrs.
