Does anyone have any input or experience with a mountable grill? My husband was talking about it around his mom and now she wants to get one for his birthday next week and left me with the task.
Good ones? Things to avoid?
Thanks!

I don't like them. It can be problematic to attach the mounting bracket to the side of your rig.
Also, I like the flexibility of being able to move my grill (small Weber) around...down to the lake or beach for an afternoon cookout, over to the neighbors for a group meal, out of the wind, etc.
...and the mountable RVQ really isn't all that great to start with.

Do you have the quick connect on the side of the trailer for a grill? I've used the attachable grill for the last few years, and it's worked fine. We recently purchased a WeberQ, and my advice is to go that route. A great little grill and much more versatile.

if the trailer isn't already setup for a mountable grill, i.e. propane pigtail and bracket on side of trailer, then it's really not worth the hassle.
any portable grill with an extension hose, hooked up to the propane tanks on the tongue, would be the way to go.

We use our Sidekick grill, mounted on the side of the trailer, all the time. A wonderful addition to the camper. But our trailer was factory LP-plumbed for it.

The trailer is all set up for a mountable grill already so it wouldn't be difficult to pop it on. I just thought I had seen mixed reviews about them and couldn't find previous posts through the search feature about it.
Thanks!

From what people seem to be saying, the newer camper grills are better, but... we had an RVQue grill for our camper when we bought it new 9 years ago. I tried my best to use it for two years, but it really wasn't a good grill. We bought a portable one (a Thermos Grill-2-Go, similar to the Weber and others) and love it.

I'm sure there are "mixed reviews!" I thought they were stupid and tried to get the option deleted from my new trailer order (a few years ago). Came anyway and I figured I might as well try the stupid grill and throw it away at the end of the season -- if it survived that long.
The simple little grill turned out to be quite nice. Starting her 8th season and used every trip.
Camco Stainless Grill is what I'd buy it I didn't have one already.

Mine came with the original rvq and while it does the job, the Webber q 100 or 200 would be my replacement.
