Is this a guess? Where did you pick up this little fact? In my opinion, no camper roofs were designed to be walked on. I crawl on mine -- all that I've owned.

Our 5er doesn't have a ladder either. I didn't even notice it until after we'd paid for it and were on our way. It's a low cost model (Puma) and a ladder was an option. Dealer said it could be added, but I decided to just get a good ladder from Home Depot. They're sold by the weight they're designed to carry, so use that as a guide in your selection process.

I have had different dealers tell me that if it does not come with a ladder, it is not a strong roof. I have ordered on 3 different 5th wheels the upgraded roof as an option. These all came with ladders. If buying off a lot, buy one that has a ladder because of the stronger roof.

I thought they were just trying to save money by not installing one. I don't have one. What do you think of the quality of ladders on rigs today?

You sure don't look like a 210 pounder in your sig pic

I at 207 also have no problems with my ladder as it's very stable.

My present one has a sturdy built in ladder.
My old one I had a collapsing ladder.

I much prefer the collapsing ladder to the "upright" built in one. Much easier to climb and with the built in one, I now have about 20 more places to worry about leaking.
