I have two questions. First, I will be travelling from Tampa to Maine this summer. I have never gone such a long distance with my TT before. Any suggestions on what I should do before and during the trip will be greatly appreciated...

When was the last time you had the bearings on the trailer repacked? If more than a year, repack them before you start the trip. How old are your tires and what condition are they in? Much easier and cheaper to replace them before hitting the road. How old is your battery? Does it take and hold a charge? Check and clean the burners of all your propane appliances. If you have not decontaminated your holding tank recently, you may want to do that since you may need it for your dry camping.

Safe travels!

Our first TT was a 1972 14' Shasta, had two kids at the time. It had an ice box, propane heater with no blower, stove, oven, and a propane mantel light over the dinette (dangerous), a manual pump water faucet over the kitchen sink and if I remembeer correctly it had one or two very small 12 volt lights, we used a bag type porta-pot outside when needed. Never had a battery problem but ran out of propane several times on winter trips and it wasn't easy to find propane in those days. I sold the trailer to a friend when it was 6 years old and he used it for another 20 years and sold it to a friend of his, it might still be in use today. Sorry for getting off topic but the battery question brought back 40 year old memories.
