Care should be taken, and any special concerns should be taken care of at the time. I can't see that anyones show dog should invalidate service any more than someone else's family pet. A mystery to me!!!

Yes indeed, well put.
What about show horses? Show steers? or Hogs? or elephants? The problem is an obvious one to anyone, they do not want to deal with show ANIMALS period! That way they do not have a thousand ridiculous requests for exceptions each day for show llamas or some other silliness. It is a lot simpler to not service vehicles for show animals and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about the policy. It is what it is and the OP was lying plain and simple as evidenced by other posters.
It's the difference between private coverage and commercial coverage. Private insurance doesn't cover commercial endeavors.
Period!
Unless of course one can convince the insurer that one wasn't commercially engaged when a loss happens, as probably happened in this case. In that (this) circumstance, the insurer pays and recoups the losses by raising the rates of...you guessed it...private, not-for-profit customers like us!

I would say that to make it clear, they should care for the RV, and it should be stated in the policy that animals, be what they may, are the responsibility of the owner to take care of. As for dog showing being a commercial enterprise, they must be doing it differently than I did. It was just another way to spend money for me, much like going to RV Rallies. A good place to meet people with the same interest as you have.

This is copied from from the contract. How much clearer can it get?

I agree.......when my job was a "contract administrator" for a local government my mantra to the "general contractors" was "READ THE CONTRACT"

Yes I guess I missed out on that memo as well. I can assure you that any pets we may take to the county fair for the Pet category are not a commercial enterprise. Private loss-leader would be more like it.
At least there are no exceptions in the contract for coverage on vehicles that transport Show Produce...
All in good fun. We are happy with GS ERS and feel it provides a good value. And I understand and accept that contractual specifications need to be made and they may or may not be to my liking. Such is life. The coverage is still a very good value in my opinion.

I have stayed out of this topic but now I feel I need to voice my opinion.
I totally understand GS's position on "Show Dogs". I also understand that some of us may at time "Show" our "Pets". My and I am sure what caused GS to put these restrictions in place is somepne may use their RV to go to a "Pet Show" and decide to enter their little one but there again there are some that travel with two or more "Animals" that the only reason for making the trip is to "Show" them. The problem is when and how does GS decide when to limit their services. The only way to do it is to do what they are doing. I do not show my pets but if I was to do something at the last minute it would be for recreation and not something that is done on a regular schedule. An as such I would not consider myself to be traveling with "Show Dogs".
Just think of what would happen if you had a break down that GS sends help for but when the Tow Truck Driver arrives they find that you have more than a few "Show Dogs" that require special care. At least if you have coverage knowing that you travel with your "Show Dogs" they might be ready to do what is needed to c are for the animals.
