I was hoping somebody may be able to give me a little direction. I am new to Rving, and this is my first Coach. I have been looking for a upgrade to my analog guages. I would like to be able to monitor the exact temperatures of engine temp, trans temp, and exhaust temp., I can't find anything on the market. The closest thing I have found would be banks kit. I would appreciate any direction or opinion given, Thanks

If that is a mechanical diesel fuel injection- all you are going to find is mostly analog gauges. No computer on that.

"IF" it will work, I recommend the Silverleaf VMSpc package. You can contact them via their website:

http://www.silverleafelectronics.com/

I have the package on my 2000 Tradition, but I have the electronic engine. You may have one too, just don't know for sure.

I have heard of the company. I think mine is the mechanical pump c series. At least that is what I have been told. I am not sure how one would find out for sure?

Give Spartan Chassis Corp in Charlotte, Michigan a call. They have all the records on your motorhome chassis, and can tell you whether it is the electronic engine or not. They also might have some ideas on where/how you could add the instrumentation you're looking for.

I went to a seminar by Silverleaf six weeks ago in Tucson as I have one on our coach. Silver leaf is in Oregon. They specialize in what you want.

If your engine is electronic, you might want to take a look at the ScanGuageD. Its available from the company, and camping world. Just came out. I just got one for my 97 Beaver with a Cat engine, it seems to work fine. Its made by LinearLogic, in Mesa, AZ. Google them to find their web site.

I just read that the electronic 8.3 was introduced by Cummins in 1998. You may be in luck. Certainly worth checking.
