For me. It's the miniute after getting setup, look around, and realize. The Cell phone won't work. The TV won't pick up, and nothin is going to beep at me.
I go camping to get away form all the stuff that I have to deal with at home. Once you get out of cell, and TV signal. GOOD TO GO.

Here's my current desktop background pic.
I just love it when he spots other campers on the road & asks when we are going camping again.

My faves:
The first beer after setup.
Capucino in the morning outside as I'm waking up.
EVERY campfire in the evening.
Rain and thunder at night and I am SO much more dry than our 25 years of tent camping.
Now that I think about it I also love the whole routine from packing to hitching to driving to parking to un-hitching and relaxing with the DW.

Some of you may consider me "weird", but i still love the excitement of the journey - seeing new places, both there and back, is still a big thrill. We do put a little effort into not having to take the same road back that we got there on.
DH, on the other hand, is walking on air for several days if he is able to spot a new bird that he has never seen before.

We have been camping at the same state park on two different occasions so far this year. I am ready to go back again. Peace, solitude, and just taking it easy. My DW says I am a good tourism director for Tennessee. I just love talking to the different campers and finding out where everyone is from.

Meeting the people at the campgrounds is one of the pleasures of camping. Campers have got to be the nicest people. Of course it is hard to be in a bad mood when you enjoying the great outdoors!!

For us the BEST in RVing/Camping is the flexibility to do what we want and when we want-it is a taste of freedom.

If I had to narrow it down to one moment, it would be after we're leveled, set up, the site is in shape (firewood/chairs, etc.) and I sit in my chair, put up my feet and open something cold to drink.

What is your favorite moment of a camping trip?
Hummm..... no one favorite moment. I love sitting under the awning watching the sun go down. I love grilling outdoors in the fresh air and only do it when camping. I love walking around the CGs and lakes where we camp. I love that first cup of coffee in the early morning mist as I watch the CG come awake. I love to read in my comfy camp recliner in the large screen room, cats by my side.
Least favorite moment is when we're all packed up and heading for home.
