Hi All,

The Data sheet for my solar panels says "Maximum Series Fuse Rating: 8 A". Does this mean the PV wiring should be fused near the Panels with an 8 Amp fuse? The max short circuit current for the panels is about 5 amps. Seems like #10 or #8 wire is pretty safe w/o an 8 amp fuse.

You all's thoughts?

Thanks

You only need a fuse if you have 3 or more in parallel. This is to prevent two (10 amps) somehow feeding through the other panel. Not even sure this would apply to an RV system but rather on a home system where you might have 12+ panels in series/parallel. Even #14 wire on a parallel set up would be safe.
