When we picked up our 2012 Cougar Xlite last month, the salesman gave us 2 keys.
The tt has 2 entry doors, and each door has its own key.
Why would they do this? Why not make one key work both doors? For the life of me I can't figure out the logic behind this.
It would be like having a different key for your front and back door of your house.
What am I missing?
Thanks!

Ours is the same way. I am guessing that each lock set comes with its own keys and it would be an extra step to make them both the same. Seems dumb to me. I haven't checked with a locksmith to see what it would take to key them the same. Just carry the two.

We have two doors on our Lance and both use the same key. It does seem strange to have different keys for front and back doors.

They just threw in what they had, off the shelve. Which is "keyed differently". Same as is you had bought 2 locks in store. "Keyed alike" would cost $2 or $3 more when ordered from supplier, so they didn't bother.

The manufacturer does not put the locks in the doors.
Each door comes complete to the factory with a lock/key from the manufacturer's door supplier. The majority of RV's have one door. So when they are making a TT with 2 doors the manufacturer is not going to take extra time and money to switch out the lock to have matching keys.

Nothing, if you don't mind carrying extra keys and having to figure out or remember which one to use in each lock. Personally, (and, I'm sure, most other people) prefer to have to deal with only one key for each door, which is the normal setup for homes.
